Welcome to Wars Of Future Past!
Fortnightly newsletters about war, robots, and other bad futures
I’m Kelsey D. Atherton, and I want to talk about the big questions behind my day-job coverage of military technology, with more depth than 280 characters allow. I’ve written on everything from nuclear war to sword missiles to gimmick drones on the battlefield. I’m as interested in the facts of war machines as what they mean for the humans that use them, and the humans on the recieving end.
If this sounds familiar, this is the third incarnation of a newsletter by me. For about a year, I wrote Tomorrow Wars at C4ISRNET, and for some time before that there was All Tomorrow’s Posts. Media is what it is, and I want a place to consistently share the odds and end from my stories, highlight the broader themes driving specific coverage, and offer a window into my beat in as frictionless a way as is possible.
